48 Palestinians killed
Deadly Aid Chaos in Gaza
Gunfire erupted as Palestinians gathered for food at the Zikim Crossing in Gaza, leaving over 48 dead and hundreds injured. The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) admitted firing “warning shots in the air” after soldiers felt “threatened” but claimed “there were no casualties directly from IDF gunfire.”
Witnesses Describe Horror
Bodies were seen “ferried away from the scene… in wooden carts” originally meant for flour. Hamas said the shooting lasted three hours as thousands crowded aid trucks.
Humanitarian Crisis Deepens
Food prices have skyrocketed—“a 25kg sack of flour” now costs £414. Aid convoys are overwhelmed. According to the PNGO, Israel has turned aid points into “killing grounds, deliberately targeting civilians.”
Israel and International Response
Israel says it enables aid and denies starvation exists in Gaza. Over 1,000 Palestinians have died seeking aid since May. UN agencies say current aid deliveries fall far short of need.
