Tragic Death of 7-Eleven Employee Sparks Homicide Investigation
Jessica McLaughlin, 24, died after a violent incident involving her manager at a 7-Eleven in California on June 24. According to her brother Sean, the manager “held her down, sat on top of her, and didn’t let her breathe.”
Alleged Assault
Family claims the unnamed manager also pulled Jessica’s hair and tried to remove security footage after the attack. “When she finally got free, she collapsed. She wasn’t breathing,” Sean wrote.
Final Days
Jessica was placed on life support but passed away on July 2. “Her brain had stopped functioning,” said Sean. “We have to make the impossible decision to let her go.”
Investigation and Response
The LAPD confirmed a verbal dispute escalated into violence and are now conducting a homicide investigation. 7-Eleven stated, “The suspect has been terminated, and we continue to fully cooperate with law enforcement.”
