7 years after saving lion’s life, man meets

An Emotional Reunion with the “Lion Whisperer”

Seven years ago, animal behaviorist Kevin Richardson rescued two lion cubs, Meg and Amy, abandoned by their mother.

Without his help, they “probably would have died, or they might have been shot by poachers later in life.”

A Special Bond

Kevin cared for the lions as they grew, forming a deep connection.

“Meg and Aimee are kind of my soulmates.

It’s like humans… very few that you actually connect wholeheartedly with,” he says.

Back to the Wild

Years later, Meg and Amy returned to the savannah.

Though they learned to hunt instinctively, Kevin wasn’t sure how they would react.

When he approached one, “the amazing moment” came as the lion jumped into the water straight toward him.

A Call to Protect Lions

With fewer than 20,000 wild lions left in Africa, Kevin’s story reminds us why these animals need protection.

They feel love and connection, just like humans do.
