Trump Vows To ‘Save’ NYC, Calls Zohran Mamdani
Trump’s Threats
President Donald Trump attacked New York mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani,
warning he could use federal powers if Mamdani wins.
“I’m not going to let this Communist Lunatic destroy New York…
I’ll save New York City, and make it ‘Hot’ and ‘Great’ again,” Trump wrote on X.
He also threatened to investigate Mamdani’s legal status and arrest him if he blocked ICE raids.
Mamdani’s Rise
Mamdani, 33, a democratic socialist and state assemblyman, shocked observers by winning the Democratic primary.
His candidacy has stirred concern among Republicans and others worried about his policies.
Tax Proposal
Mamdani’s housing plan calls for shifting property taxes to “richer and whiter neighborhoods.”
His campaign says the system favors wealthy Manhattan and Brooklyn homeowners,
while Black, Latino, and immigrant homeowners face heavier burdens.
Housing Reforms
He pledges to end tax lien auctions, create a $10 million “Tangled Title Fund,”
freeze rents, expand public housing, and build 200,000 affordable homes.
