Young dad dies suddenly with 72 holes
A Young Father Lost
Dylan Jay Watts, 28, from Broulee, NSW, was a devoted father who once wrote,
“Words cannot describe how much more purpose I feel with you in my life!”
He tragically died on March 22 from a severe bacterial infection, just days before his 29th birthday.
A Rapid Decline
Dylan’s health struggles began in 2021 with two holes in his lungs — by mid-2024, doctors found 72.
His sister Caitlyn recalled, “His doctor told him if he hadn’t got in so soon, that could have killed him.”
Despite chronic coughing, exhaustion, and heavy medication,
Dylan stayed optimistic, though doctors warned he might not live past 30.
Family Grief
His mother Suzanne brought him home with his puppy just days before his sudden passing.
“Although Dylan had been unwell, this has… come as a shock,” said family friend Cheyenne O’Brien.
Community Support
A GoFundMe raised over AU$4,600 of its AU$6,000 goal. Caitlyn reminded others: “Let this be a reminder that those you love can be gone in an instant.”
