Arturo Gatti Jr., Son of Boxing Legend, Dies at 17
Tragic Discovery
Arturo Gatti Jr., 17, the son of late boxing legend Arturo “Thunder” Gatti,
has been found dead in his Mexico City apartment.
Authorities have not yet released a cause of death.
Boxing World in Mourning
“The WBA and the boxing world mourn the passing of Arturo Gatti Jr.,”
the World Boxing Association wrote on X. Boxer Jean Pascal added,
“Sixteen years after losing his father, the world loses another Gatti… both gone too soon.”
Family and Friends React
His coach Moe Latif confirmed, “It is unfortunately not a rumor or a joke. Arturo is gone.”
Family friend Chuck Zito wrote, “It’s with a heavy heart that I have to say… R.I.P. to 17-year-old ARTURO GATTI JR.”
Carrying His Father’s Legacy
Gatti Jr. had been training for his professional debut, often saying,
“You’re still my biggest inspiration… I’m here to carry it forward, with pride and purpose.”
