Patel: Probe Into Trump, GOP Lawmakers

FBI’s “Arctic Frost” Investigation Faces Scrutiny

A newly released memo shows the FBI’s Arctic Frost investigation into Donald Trump and

his allies over January 6 activities began with limited evidence and unclear legal grounds,

according to former prosecutors and agents.

The memo, approved in April 2022, relied heavily on CNN interview clips “suggesting” Trump’s involvement.

House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan called the probe “legally flawed,”

comparing it to the discredited 2016 Crossfire Hurricane investigation.

“Sure looks that way… same old weaponization, same old political focus,”

Jordan said, accusing the FBI of targeting Trump for partisan reasons.

The operation was approved by top Biden administration officials,

including Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray,

and later transferred to Special Counsel Jack Smith, who has denied wrongdoing.

Documents show hundreds of Trump allies and over 400 Republican groups were subpoenaed,

raising concerns that Arctic Frost expanded into a politically driven investigation.
