1. Crash and Injuries
Authorities in Dougherty County, Georgia, are investigating
an ambulance rollover involving three vehicles at a busy Albany intersection.
Nine people — including a newborn — were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
2. How the Crash Happened
Georgia State Patrol says the ambulance, carrying EMTs and two patients,
collided with a pickup truck and then hit a Buick.
Witnesses called the scene “surreal,” noting that “the people who usually save lives suddenly needed saving themselves.”
3. Emergency Response and Statements
Multiple agencies responded quickly. EMS Director James Gibney said,
“The safety of our patients, crews, and community remains our highest priority,”
expressing relief no one was seriously hurt.
Hospital staff said responders were “shaken but calm.”
4. Ongoing Investigation
Troopers are reviewing skid marks, witness accounts, and dashcam footage.
A GSP spokesperson said the goal is “to understand how this happened so we can prevent it from happening again.”
