Trump Admin Launches
Federal Action
Following earlier crime-control efforts in Washington, D.C.,
former President Donald Trump announced the National Guard deployment to Memphis
in early September as part of a plan to combat rising violent crime.
Operation Launch
The move included a joint task force with the FBI, ATF, and Department of Justice.
Working with local police, they began a citywide crackdown on September 29.
Results
“According to a daily police report obtained by The Daily Caller,”
the operation has led to 2,213 arrests, including 139 known gang members.
Authorities also seized 379 firearms and recovered 97 missing children,
calling the effort one of the city’s most intensive in years.
Response and Goals
Attorney General Pam Bondi said the results show Memphis is safer due to the federal surge.
Officials stress cooperation across agencies to curb organized crime and restore public safety.
