Veteran Actor Harris Yulin Dies at 88

Harris Yulin, known for roles in Scarface and Ghostbusters II, died Tuesday in New York at age 88 from cardiac arrest, his manager Sue Leibman and family confirmed.

Yulin played Mel Bernstein, the corrupt detective in Scarface (1983), and Judge Stephen Wexler in Ghostbusters II (1989), overseeing the trial of the ghost-fighting team. “He famously oversaw the case involving the ghost fighting squad,” as remembered in tributes.

Born in Los Angeles on November 5, 1937, Yulin’s career spanned over 60 years. His film debut came in Doc (1971) as Wyatt Earp. He later appeared in Clear and Present Danger, Training Day, and Ozark.

On stage, he debuted in New York in 1963 and returned to Broadway often, performing in The Price and The Diary of Anne Frank.
