Conflict Escalates: Iran Refuses

Ceasefire Between Israel and Iran Quickly Breaks

Just hours after a ceasefire brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump, Israel claimed Iran fired missiles, violating the truce. The ceasefire followed a 12-day conflict, which began after Iran’s limited missile strike on a U.S. base in Qatar and intensified with deadly exchanges.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the country met all military goals, including neutralizing Iran’s missile and nuclear threats. “Israel will respond forcefully to any violation of the ceasefire,” he warned.

President Trump had expressed hope the fighting was over, saying, “I don’t believe they will ever be shooting at each other again.”

After the reported violation, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered “intense strikes against regime targets in the heart of Tehran.”

Iran denied launching missiles after the ceasefire. Earlier, a pre-ceasefire Iranian attack killed four and injured 20 in Israel’s Beersheba, damaging residential buildings.
