Authorities Locate 60 Missing Children in ‘Operation Dragon-Eye’

Successful Recovery Operation
The United States Marshals Service (USMS) led Operation Dragon-Eye, a multi-agency effort in Florida that safely found 60 critically missing children across Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco Counties. The two-week mission is called “the most effective missing child recovery mission” in USMS history.

Comprehensive Care for Children
William Berger, U.S. Marshal for the Middle District of Florida, said, “What made this operation unique was that underaged critically missing children, aged 9 to 17, were not only recovered but also debriefed and provided with both physical and psychological care.” The operation focused on recovery plus long-term support to keep children safe.

Community and Law Enforcement Collaboration
Mario Price, Deputy in Charge for USMS, called it “far more than just a Marshals operation—it was a community initiative.” The mission aimed to locate children, offer support, and prevent harm by identifying exploiters. Eight arrests were made involving serious charges.

Teamwork and Ongoing Support
Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercow said, “This operation underscores how essential teamwork is in public safety.” Agencies continue to follow up with children to ensure their safety and healing after recovery.
