Tourist’s Final Words To Mom Before …
Tragic Accident and Last Messages
Brazilian traveler Juliana Marins, 26, died after falling into a volcano crater while hiking on Indonesia’s Lombok island. Before the accident, she sent a heartfelt text to her mother: “Mami, I love you so much. I was heartbroken when we said goodbye.” She also wrote, “I am like that too. I have different desires and dreams,” showing her courage despite the risks.
Rescue Efforts and Family’s Anger
A drone found Juliana trapped 500 meters down a cliff, but rescue teams arrived too late. Her family accused rescuers of “negligence,” saying, “If the team had reached her within the estimated time of 7 hours, Juliana would still be alive.” They vowed to “seek justice for her.”
Circumstances of the Fall
Juliana was hiking with a guide and had asked for a break. The group moved on without her, and she fell while waiting alone. The Brazilian Senate member Tereza Cristina said, “In practice, Juliana was left behind twice: on the dangerous trail and after she fell off the cliff.”
Official Response and Mourning
The Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed Juliana’s death after four difficult days of search. Tereza Cristina added, “The entire Brazil cheered and prayed… Unfortunately, they could not save her. Very sad.” Condolences were sent to her family, urging a full investigation.
