From Waitress to Unexpected Performer
Three years ago, Kleo worked as a waitress at M’s Grill, putting her music dreams on hold after her mom died and her dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. She told herself, “Just until things get better,” as she worked through tough times.
The Night Everything Changed
When a guest performer named Liam failed on stage, Kleo’s boss blamed her: “This is your fault, Kleo! You messed with his head! Now go out there and fix this—sing, dance, whatever! Or you’re fired!” Nervous but determined, Kleo stepped on stage.
Finding Her Voice
With help from Jake, a fellow server and guitarist, Kleo sang “At Last” by Etta James. The room fell silent, then applauded and swayed. Two guests told her, “Because your voice… it’s rare.” Kleo handed in her apron and left.
Living Her Dream
Kleo formed a band, played bigger gigs, and paid off her loans. With her dad cared for, she finally lives her dream she once set aside. She reflects, “Guess I didn’t throw anyone off tonight, huh?”
