Bangladesh Jet Crash Injures Over 100
A Bangladesh Air Force F-7 BGI jet crashed onto the Milestone School and College campus in Uttara, Dhaka, injuring over 100 people. “At least 83” are being treated in hospitals, interim leader Muhammad Yunus said.
Panic at School
The crash happened in the afternoon while students were present. TV footage showed “fire and smoke billowing” as bystanders tried to put out flames. Videos on social media showed students fleeing in panic.
Government Response
Yunus promised an investigation and support: “Necessary measures would be taken… The loss… is irreparable.”
Air India Crash Linked
The incident follows a deadly Air India crash in Ahmedabad, India, killing 260 people. A report found that the fuel switches “transitioned from RUN to CUTOFF… one after another,” leading to engine failure. Pilots were heard saying: “Thrust not achieved… falling… Mayday! Mayday! Mayday!”
