President Donald Trump has achieved something unprecedented
Trump’s Historic Rooftop Stroll
On August 5, President Donald Trump surprised reporters by appearing on the White House roof — the first sitting president to do so. Waving and chatting with aides and architect Jim McCrery, he looked out over the South Lawn. Asked about the unusual visit, Trump grinned: “Just taking a little walk.”
A Bold New Ballroom Project
The rooftop moment was more than casual. Trump was surveying the site of a planned 90,000-square-foot ballroom, unveiled a week earlier. “It goes with the ballroom, which is on the other side,” he said. “Something beautiful.”
Privately Funded Vision
Trump emphasized he would personally finance the $200 million project, with some private donations. “Anything I do is financed by me,” he noted. His upgrades so far include a redesigned Rose Garden, gold accents in the Oval Office, and new flagpoles on the lawns.
Playful but Focused
During the walk, Trump joked about building “nuclear missiles” next, mimicking a launch. Still, his words reflected his intent: “Just more ways to spend my money — for the country.”
