DHS Launches National Program Aimed at Prompting
DHS Pushes Self-Deportation via CBP Home App
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has launched a nationwide campaign encouraging undocumented immigrants to self-deport using the CBP Home App.
“The CBP Home App gives immigrants the choice to depart now, with dignity, and leave the door open for a legal return,” said Secretary Kristi Noem.
Incentives for Voluntary Departure
Participants receive a free plane ticket and up to $1,000 in aid.
Those who comply keep eligibility for legal reentry under U.S. immigration laws.
Penalties for Refusal
DHS warns that those rejecting the program face fines, detention, and permanent bans on legal entry.
Growing Participation
Thousands have already joined similar programs, and officials expect numbers to rise as awareness grows.
DHS emphasizes this is “a final chance to leave on their terms”, aligning with its goal to reduce the undocumented population and support lawful immigration.
