Rep. Randy Fine Proposes Bill Targeting Judges After Charlotte Murder

Following the murder of Iryna Zarutska in Charlotte,

Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) is introducing a bill to hold judges accountable if released violent offenders commit new crimes.

The bill targets the judges who allegedly freed repeat offender Decarlos Brown Jr. before he fatally attacked Zarutska.

Fine Calls for Accountability

“Those 12+ judges that released Decarlos Brown Jr. should have their day in court too,” Fine stated.

“It’s easy to release criminals when you’re protected by an armed bailiff at all times. The rest of us aren’t so lucky.”

What the Bill Would Do

The proposed law would allow investigations and sanctions against judges who release violent repeat offenders who reoffend.

Partisan Divide Expected

Fine believes the bill “should pass with ease,” but warned,

“we already know how Democrats are likely to vote,”

signaling an expected partisan clash over judicial accountability and crime policy.
