BREAKING NEWS Large HURRICANE
Hurricane Hal’s Tropical Weather Update – Mon Sep 23, 11 AM EDT
Breaking News
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has begun advisories on Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine,
expected to become Tropical Storm Helene later today or tonight.
Storm Development
NHC forecasts disorganized thunderstorms in the NW Caribbean to organize and form a circulation center soon.
Helene is projected to move through the Yucatan Channel, enter the Gulf of Mexico, and rapidly intensify,
with maximum winds forecast to reach 110 mph — near a Category 3 hurricane.
Track & Impact Zones
Models suggest a path toward the Florida Panhandle through West Central Florida, with Georgia and South Carolina also at risk.
“Residents should always prepare for one category higher than forecast,”
meaning Category 3 winds are possible in some areas.
A large wind field and storm surge flooding are expected,
especially along Florida’s concave coastline.
Preparation Timeline
A circulation center could form within hours, leaving just 60–72 hours before landfall.
Officials urge residents to review disaster plans and secure supplies immediately.
