  • Warming drawer (80–200°F, with knobs or “Warm/Proof” settings)

  • Broiler drawer (common on gas ranges; open flame above a slotted pan)

  • Baking drawer (rare, acts as a small second oven)

  • Storage drawer (no heat or controls; safe for pans, not plastics)

Why It Matters

Residual heat can melt plastic, warp utensils, or block airflow if stuffed.

Check your manual (model sticker inside door frame or behind the drawer).

Best Uses of a Warming Drawer

  • Keep food, plates, or mugs warm
  • Proof bread dough (85–95°F)

  • Gently melt chocolate or soften butter

  • Hold fried foods crisp on a rack

Safety Tips

Keep food ≥140°F, use oven-safe dishes only, avoid plastics/paper/wood, and clean crumbs to prevent odors or pests.
