his widow Erika made headlines with an emotional tribute and a symbolic hand gesture.
Forgiveness
Speaking of the alleged killer, Tyler Robinson, Erika said: “That man, that young man, I forgive him.
I forgive him because it was what Christ did and it is what Charlie would do.”
She added: “He left this world without regret… Charlie died with incomplete work, but not with unfinished business.”
The Sign
Standing beside Trump, Erika raised her hand in the American Sign Language symbol for “I love you.”
Lingvano notes the sign “became a strong symbol in the Deaf Community and has since been spreading into the mainstream.”

In a later interview, Erika said: “I do not want that man’s blood on my ledger…
When I get to heaven… I want to be with Charlie.”
