A Father’s Legacy: Officer Gould and His Son’s
A Father-Son Dream Realized in Uniform
In 1998, a young boy wrote to his father, Officer Gould:
“When I grow up, I want to be my dad’s partner, catching bad guys and burglars.”
It seemed like a child’s dream—but it came true.
Two decades later, on Father’s Day, the Auburn Police Department posted a touching tribute.
Father and son, now both officers, recreated a childhood photo.
“At 6’7”, it was quite a challenge to fit Officer Gould’s son into his patrol vehicle this Father’s Day, but they made it work!”
The son had followed his father into law enforcement, inspired by his example.
The department said, “Recreating this photo after 20 years was a beautiful way to honor father and son.”
For Officer Gould, it was a proud moment: his son had grown into the role with integrity and commitment.
Their shared path reflected the power of guidance, love, and a promise fulfilled.
