After missing the 2025 Emmys, 52-year-old
Eric Dane’s Courageous Battle with ALS
Hollywood actor Eric Dane shared an emotional Instagram video on September 15, 2025, announcing his partnership with I Am ALS.
Fans noticed changes in his speech and movement, commenting on his “slurred” voice and “twitching” muscles.
The post came months after he revealed his ALS diagnosis and skipped the 2025 Emmy Awards,
where Grey’s Anatomy was to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
Introducing himself, Dane said, “I’m Eric. An actor, a father, and now a person living with ALS.”
He urged action against the disease, promoting Push for Progress, a campaign to raise $1 billion for treatment and care expansion.
He recalled early symptoms, including hand weakness and a boating scare when his daughter helped him to safety.
Despite hardships, he thanked his wife and daughters for their support.
“I don’t think this is the end of my story,” Dane said. “I’m fighting as much as I can.”
