An 18-year-old horse named Astro nearly drowned after getting stuck in mud during a beach ride near Geelong, Australia. His owner, Nicole Graham, and her daughter were riding when their horses wandered onto soft sand that turned into a muddy trap.
Owner Stays by His Side
While her daughter escaped safely, Astro sank up to his neck. Nicole stayed with him for three hours, holding his head above the rising tide. “She refused to leave his side,” rescuers said.
