Multiple Vehicle Crash on Mexico-Querétaro Highway
On Wednesday, November 20, a trailer caused a major collision at kilometer 059+000 on the Mexico-Querétaro Highway in Huehuetoca, State of Mexico. The trailer “ended up across the road, occupying all three north-south lanes,” leading to a partial highway closure.
Cause of the Accident
The trailer driver, heading toward Mexico City, “failed to brake in time before the Jorobas intersection” and hit a bank, then collided with five cars and a pickup truck. Wet road conditions from rain may have contributed, but authorities will investigate.
Injuries and Response
Paramedics treated the injured, who had mostly minor injuries. Although “no serious injuries were reported,” some were advised to get hospital check-ups to prevent complications.
