British man is only passenger to survive

Sole Survivor in Air India Crash
A British man, Vishwashkumar Ramesh, survived the Air India flight crash in Ahmedabad that killed 241 people. He was seated in 11A on the London-bound Boeing 787-8. “He has no idea how he survived,” said his brother Nayan Kumar Ramesh, who added Vishwashkumar was “just more worried about my other brother, like ‘Find Ajay, find Ajay.’”
Survival and Immediate Aftermath
Vishwashkumar described the crash: “30 seconds after takeoff there was a loud noise and then the plane crashed. It all happened so quickly.” He escaped with minor injuries, helped into an ambulance, and was later seen meeting Indian officials. Police confirmed only one survivor from the crash.
Impact on Families and Responses
Many families remain in shock, clinging to hope for loved ones. British and Indian leaders expressed condolences. UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy has set up crisis teams to assist relatives.
