Cameron Diaz Shares Candid Reflections On Body Image

Facing Society’s Beauty Standards
Cameron Diaz, 49, admits she’s felt pressure from society’s beauty ideals. On Michelle Visage’s Rule Breakers podcast, she said, “I am absolutely a victim of all of the societal objectifications and exploitations that women are subjected to.” She explained how hard it is not to judge herself by those standards.

Changing Priorities with Age
Since stepping away from Hollywood to raise her daughter, Diaz feels freer. “I’m like a wild animal, like a beast. I don’t care. It’s the last thing I think about on a daily basis,” she shared, showing how she’s embraced aging with less concern for appearance.

Body Positivity and Self-Respect
Having spent hours in front of mirrors during filming, Diaz recognizes the harm in self-criticism. “You start to pick yourself apart… Why am I going to talk down to it and be mean to it when it’s carried me this far?” she said, emphasizing respect for her body’s strength and experience.

Embracing Aging Naturally
Diaz looks forward to turning 50, saying, “I can’t wait to be 50. I just know more. I’ve done so much.” She also rejected cosmetic surgery, recalling, “I’d rather see my face aging than a face that doesn’t belong to me at all.”
