Missing Woman’s Car Found After 23 Years
Human remains were found in the car of Samantha Jean Hopper, who vanished with her daughter in Arkansas in 1998, according to the Pope County Sheriff’s Office.

The car was discovered submerged in eight feet of water by Adventures With Purpose, a nonprofit group that helps solve cold cases. “Samantha and her two babies have now been brought home,” the organization said.

Details of Disappearance
Hopper disappeared on September 11, 1998. “Samantha was reported to have been traveling to drop her daughter, Courtney Holt, off before continuing on to a concert in Little Rock; however, Samantha, her daughter, and her blue Ford Tempo were never located,” officials said.

Next Steps and Closure
The remains have been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for DNA testing. “We are thankful to have been a small part of helping bring this 23-year-old case to closure,” said the Sheriff’s Office.
