Country legend Willie Nelson is still active at 92, releasing his 76th solo album,
The Last Leaf on the Tree.
Despite battling emphysema and COVID-19,
he continues performing with the same energy that has defined his nearly 70-year career.
Reflections on Aging
The album focuses on life, death, and legacy. Nelson remains calm about mortality:
“I’m 91 plus, so I’m not worried about it. I don’t feel bad. I don’t hurt anywhere.
I have no reason to fear dying.”
The record features songs by Tom Waits and Beck, plus a collaboration with his son Micah.
Remembering Friends
As the last surviving member of The Highwaymen, Nelson mourned Kris Kristofferson:
“He left behind so many great songs for us to sing… Losing him was hard.”
Still a Pioneer
Recently, Nelson performed at a Texas rally and reunited with Beyoncé,
