Declassified Report Sparks Controversy Over 2016
Declassified Report Reignites 2016 Election Debate
A newly declassified intelligence report released by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has revived concerns over foreign interference in the 2016 U.S. election.
It reveals that Russia accessed internal Clinton campaign communications, including sensitive discussions about her health.
However, Russian officials reportedly withheld the information, assuming Clinton would win and wanting to avoid “unnecessary complications.”
The report also cites a Clinton campaign proposal to “link Donald Trump to Russian operatives” to deflect attention from her email controversy.
Gabbard emphasized, “The public deserves full transparency,” and criticized the rushed handling of intelligence.
Senator Roger Marshall added, “The American people have a right to know.”
In response, the DOJ formed a task force to investigate whether intelligence was politically manipulated.
A spokesperson stated the agency takes any misuse “very seriously.”
The findings highlight ongoing concerns about election integrity and the influence of both foreign actors and political strategies.
