Democrat Snaps On House Floor, Launches Trump Articles
Green Launches Impeachment Push Over Trump’s Gaza Remarks
Texas Democrat Al Green has introduced his first impeachment effort of 2025 against former President Donald Trump, criticizing Trump’s recent comments on the Israel-Gaza conflict.
“Ethnic cleansing in Gaza is not a joke, especially when it emanates from the President of the United States,” Green said on the House floor. He accused Trump of downplaying the violence and condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for staying silent. “Knowing the history of his people… to stand there and allow such things to be said” is unacceptable, Green added.
Green emphasized the power of a U.S. president’s words, warning, “The most powerful person in the world… has the ability to perfect what he says.”
Calling his effort a moral stand, Green declared, “And still I rise, Mr. Speaker,” highlighting the need to speak out against what he views as complicity in international injustice.
