The White House reportedly called for an investigation, questioning if the stoppage was intentional.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said there would be “accountability” if sabotage was found.
Trump’s Response
Trump described the incidents as “triple sabotage” on Truth Social, pointing to the escalator, teleprompter, and sound system.
“A REAL DISGRACE took place at the United Nations yesterday — Not one, not two, but three very sinister events!” he wrote.
UN Explanation
The UN stated the escalator malfunction was due to a safety mechanism being inadvertently activated.
Trump also noted, “All I got from the United Nations was an escalator that on the way up stopped right in the middle… And then a teleprompter that didn’t work.”
