Eric Dane Misses Emmys After ALS-Related Fall
Gray’s Anatomy star Eric Dane, known as Dr. McSteamy, missed this year’s Emmys after a fall linked to his ALS diagnosis left him hospitalized for stitches.
The actor had planned to reunite with his cast for the show’s 20th anniversary.
Living With ALS
Dane revealed his diagnosis in April 2025, calling ALS “a nasty disease.”
He told Diane Sawyer, “My left side is functioning, my right side has completely stopped working.”
Despite the condition, he continues to raise awareness and advocate for research.
Support and Advocacy
After going public, Dane said, “I’ve never experienced a bigger outpouring of love and support.”
In September, he met lawmakers in Washington, D.C., urging renewal of the ACT for ALS to support medical research.
Looking Ahead
Grateful for his family’s love, Dane told People,
“I’m grateful to have my loving family by my side,”
and hopes to return to Euphoria for season three.
