Father who murdered 10-year-old daughter
1. The Tragic Murder of Sara Sharif
In August 2023, 10-year-old Sara Sharif was found dead in Woking,
Surrey, after suffering a “campaign of torture” over two years.
Her father, Urfan Sharif, confessed in a note: “I swear to God that my intention was not to kill her.
But I lost it.” Sara had over 70 injuries, including fractures, burns, and bite marks.
2. Arrests and Sentences
Sara’s father, stepmother Beinash Batool, and uncle Faisal Malik were charged.
On December 17, 2024, Urfan received a life sentence with a minimum of 40 years, Batool 33 years, and Malik 16 years.
Mr. Justice Cavanagh described their actions as “a campaign of torture” of “almost inconceivable” cruelty.
3. Sara’s Family Response
Sara’s birth mother called the trio “sadists” and said,
“She is now an angel who looks down on us from heaven.”
4. Attack in Prison
In HMP Belmarsh, Urfan was attacked by fellow inmates, leaving him with serious injuries.
An insider said, “A lot of them are saying how it couldn’t have happened to a more deserving guy.”
