Five Friends Lost in Texas Crash: Remembering Their Lives

Dallas Mourns Five Friends Lost in Tragic Crash

Five close friends from Dallas — Thalia Salinas, Brianna Valadez, Ruby Cruz, Desiree Cervantez, and Jacqueline “Jackie” Velasco — died on July 25, 2025, in a fiery crash on U.S. Highway 281 in Burnet County while heading to celebrate a birthday.

A truck hauling a livestock trailer crossed into oncoming traffic, striking another vehicle before crashing into the women’s SUV. Their vehicle overturned and caught fire. Others involved suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The community is heartbroken. “Thalia was thoughtful and organized,” “Brianna was known for her warm hugs,” “Ruby was fiercely loyal,” “Desiree was ambitious,” and “Jackie was remembered for her strength and gentle nature.”

Loved ones have created a roadside memorial and shared tributes online. Fundraisers are helping cover funeral costs.

The truck driver’s identity remains undisclosed, and no charges have been filed as the investigation continues. The women’s memory lives on through those who loved them.
