Full-Time Security
FBI Enhances Security for Deputy Director Dan Bongino
For the first time, the FBI has assigned 24/7 protection to its Deputy Director, Dan Bongino, with up to 20 agents rotating on duty. Bongino, a former Secret Service agent, chose official protection over carrying a personal weapon.
Unprecedented Measures Raise Questions
Traditionally reserved for top officials, this level of security drew concern. “This is taxpayer-funded protection,” said a retired agent, “so it’s important to evaluate the threat level accurately.”
Part of Reform Agenda
The decision reflects internal shifts as Bongino and Director Kash Patel push for agency reform. “We’re focused on real results—not just appearances,” Bongino stated.
Call for Transparency
He encouraged public input while acknowledging limits on disclosure: “Watch what happens.”
