Get Ready: Buck Full Moon Is Coming

What is the Buck Moon?
The July full moon is called the “Buck Moon,” a name from the Algonquin people who noticed male deer, or bucks, growing new antlers in July, “wrapped in soft, velvety fur.” The Buck Moon symbolizes “transformation, growth, and grounding energy,” inviting us to “shed old layers and begin your next chapter.”

The Buck Moon in Australia
Even though July is winter in Australia and bucks don’t grow antlers there, the full moon still keeps its meaning of “development, metamorphosis, and re-establishing energy.”

When to See the Buck Moon
On July 11, 2025, the Buck Moon peaks at 6:38 AM AEST and rises again at 5:37 PM AEST, appearing almost full with “roughly 99% illuminated.”

How to Celebrate
To honor the Buck Moon, you can “moon-gaze and manifest” by writing down what you want to call in or let go of. You can also “soak up the vibes” with a bath and incense or do a “sacred ritual” like meditating, pulling tarot cards, or charging crystals under the moonlight.
