Heroic Dad of 3 and Camp Counselors Brave Texas Flood to Save Lives
Heroic Acts Amid Texas Floods
During the severe floods along Texas’s Guadalupe River, stories of bravery emerged. Julian Ryan, 27, a father of three, acted quickly when flash floods hit his home on July 4.
He “helped his fiancée, Christinia Wilson, their three kids, and his mother escape to safety.”
Julian broke a window, injuring his arm badly but continued until his family was safe. His last words were, “I’m sorry, I’m not going to make it. I love y’all.” A fundraiser in his honor has raised nearly $88,000.
At Camp Mystic in Kerrville, counselor Emma Foltz protected 14 girls during the floods despite recently losing her mother.
Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry called her “a true light in the storm.” Emma’s calm courage made her a symbol of quiet strength during the crisis.
