Deadly Crash Near Roatan<\/strong><\/p>\n

A Lanhsa Airlines plane crashed off the coast of Roatan Island shortly after takeoff on Monday,<\/p>\n

killing twelve people, including renowned Garifuna musician Aurelio Martinez.<\/p>\n

The flight was headed to La Ceiba on the Honduran mainland.<\/p>\n

Victims and Location<\/strong><\/p>\n

The aircraft carried fourteen passengers and three crew members.<\/p>\n

Victims included two children, a French citizen, and a U.S. national.<\/p>\n

The crash occurred about one kilometer from Roatan International<\/p>\n

Airport in waters near a popular \u0442\u0443\u0440\u0438\u0441\u0442 area.<\/p>\n

Rescue and Response<\/strong><\/p>\n

Poor weather and low visibility have complicated rescue efforts.<\/p>\n

Roatan fire chief Franklin Borjas said operations are ongoing, with one person still missing.<\/p>\n

Survivors and injured passengers were taken to hospitals in San Pedro Sula and La Ceiba.<\/p>\n
