Individual Diagnosed with Aggressive Prostate Ca.n.cer
Elderly Man Diagnosed with Advanced Prostate Ca.n.cer
An 82-year-old man has been diagnosed with grade group 5 prostate ca.n.cer, marked by a Gleason score of 9 and bone metastasis, according to a statement from his personal office on May 18.
The diagnosis came after worsening urinary symptoms led to a medical evaluation. The ca.n.cer is aggressive but hormone-sensitive, offering potential treatment options. “The individual and their family are currently reviewing treatment strategies with their healthcare team,” the statement said.
The American Ca.n.cer Society notes that grade group 5 suggests a high risk of growth and spread, though it may not yet involve lymph nodes or other organs.
This follows earlier reports of good health. A 2023 biopsy had revealed a basal cell carcinoma, which was successfully removed.
