Judge’s South Carolina Home Destroyed in Mysterious Fire

Tragedy struck Edisto Beach, South Carolina,

when Judge Diane Goodstein’s $1.5 million oceanfront home was destroyed in a massive blaze on October 4.

The fire, described by officials as resulting from an “apparent explosion,”

left three people hospitalized, including former state senator Arnold “Arnie” Goodstein, the judge’s husband.

Fire crews said the family escaped by jumping from upper floors,

while others were rescued by kayak due to the home’s remote location.

Witnesses shared videos showing flames engulfing the property and thick smoke rising into the sky.

The incident comes just weeks after Judge Goodstein ruled against the Trump Department of Justice,

blocking access to South Carolina voter data.

The timing has fueled online speculation and political finger-pointing.

SLED officials have launched an “active and ongoing” investigation,

while Chief Justice John Kittredge confirmed the cause remains undetermined.
