Julian McMahon Dies at 56 After Private Cancer Battle

Actor Julian McMahon, known for Nip/Tuck and FBI: Most Wanted, has died at 56 after quietly battling cancer. His wife Kelly shared, “With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer.”

McMahon last appeared in March at SXSW promoting The Surfer with Nicolas Cage. Kelly added, “Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans.”

Julian rose to fame as Dr. Christian Troy on Nip/Tuck, and starred in Charmed, Profiler, and Marvel’s Fantastic Four. He played Jess LaCroix on FBI: Most Wanted until 2022.

Son of former Australian Prime Minister Sir William McMahon, Julian reflected on his upbringing: “My Dad… was born in 1908. That’s a very different time to what it was when he was raising me.”
