Kamala Harris’ Political Future Questioned
Harris’s Future in Question
Vice President Kamala Harris is once again facing speculation about her next political step after comments from her longtime mentor and former partner, ex–San Francisco mayor Willie Brown.
Brown’s Blunt Advice
In a podcast interview, Brown said: “She may not want to run for governor of the state of California.
That may not be where she should be going.
I think it’s going to be difficult for her to win that job.”
He argued Harris’s strengths lie in law, not executive leadership.
The Attorney General “What-If”
Brown also revealed he once advised Harris to ask Joe Biden for the attorney general role instead of the vice presidency,
saying: “She’s better in the legal world than as an executive.”
Uncertain Path Ahead
Harris’s low approval ratings and California’s competitive politics make her next move unclear — whether governor, Senate, Cabinet, or another presidential run.
Brown’s words highlight both her achievements and the risks of her future choices.
