Manhunt ends after shocking murder of Minnesota lawmakers

Suspect Captured After Deadly Minnesota Shootings
Authorities caught Vance Luther Boelter, 57, Sunday evening in Sibley County after Minnesota’s largest manhunt. A resident spotted him on a trail camera, and an emergency alert warned locals. Boelter hid briefly in the woods but surrendered peacefully, crawling toward officers and identifying himself.

The Violent Rampage
Boelter is accused of killing Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, and critically wounding State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife. He “posed as law enforcement” with police-style gear and a vehicle with flashing lights, attacking both families’ homes.

Two Homes, Four Victims
Surveillance shows Boelter arriving at the Hoffman home early Saturday, announcing himself as police, then shooting the couple, who survived despite multiple gunshot wounds. Ninety minutes later, he shot Mark and Melissa Hortman, both pronounced dead at the scene.
