Missing teen found trapped inside chimney
🕯️ The Mysterious Death of Joshua Maddux
A Teen Vanishes
On May 8, 2008, 18-year-old Joshua Maddux left his Woodland Park, Colorado home for a walk and never returned.
His family searched desperately, clinging to hope he was traveling, writing, or living quietly somewhere else.

Grim Discovery
Seven years later, in 2015, workers demolishing a cabin less than a mile away found a mummified body inside its chimney.
Dental records confirmed it was Josh. His pants, shoes,
and socks were neatly folded inside the cabin.
His father recalled, “I about had a heart attack.”

Unanswered Questions
Coroner Al Born first ruled the death accidental, suggesting Josh got stuck and froze.
But cabin owner Chuck Murphy insisted,
“There’s no way that guy crawled inside that chimney with that steel webbing.”

A Lasting Mystery
Despite reopened investigations and rumors of foul play, no answers came.
As Josh’s sister Kate said, “All I know is he did not go down that chimney.”
