Nexstar Refuses To Air Kimmel’s Return To ABC Over
Nexstar and Sinclair Drop Kimmel
Nexstar Media Group and Sinclair Broadcast Group announced they will not air Jimmy Kimmel Live!
on their ABC affiliates after the host falsely claimed Charlie Kirk was murdered by a MAGA supporter.
“We made a decision last week to preempt Jimmy Kimmel Live!… We stand by that decision,” Nexstar stated.
Sinclair confirmed it would replace the show with news programming.
Disney Suspension
ABC suspended the program “indefinitely” following what Disney called Kimmel’s “ill-timed and insensitive” remarks.
Reports suggest Disney may consider buying out his contract instead of reinstating the show.
Staffer Speaks Out
An anonymous staffer doubted the show’s return: “I can’t imagine a scenario in which that happens… MAGA people will never be happy.
It will never be enough.”
Ongoing Fallout
FCC Chairman Brendan Carr called Kimmel’s conduct “some of the sickest conduct possible” and said regulators may investigate.
Prosecutors say shooter Tyler Robinson held leftist views, not MAGA ties.
