A 32-year-old woman dated her 39-year-old boyfriend for nine months when tensions arose over a recurring issue at dinner. Each week, they dined out with his two kids, and he would “forget” his wallet, leaving her to pay.
At first, she didn’t mind, but after covering several expensive meals in one month, she was left broke. Before one outing, she texted him, “remind you to bring your wallet.” He laughed it off. At the restaurant, the kids ordered freely, and he again said, “Guess I forgot it in the other pair of jeans.”
Frustrated, she refused to pay and left. He later accused her of being selfish and “willing to let them go hungry.” She told him it wasn’t fair to pay every time.
