Hillary Clinton Steps Back From Politics
Under the lights of a New York City auditorium,
Hillary Rodham Clinton confirmed she is stepping back from front-line politics after nearly fifty years.
“This isn’t easy… but it’s time,” she said.
Her career — from First Lady to Senator, Secretary of State,
and the first woman nominated for U.S. president by a major party — reshaped American politics.
At Columbia University on October 1, 2025,
Clinton called her move “not a goodbye… it’s a redirection.”
She plans to mentor young leaders and focus on “expanding girls’ education, improving civic literacy,
and promoting women’s economic empowerment.”
Reflecting on her journey, she said, “My goal is to elevate others.”
President Joe Biden praised her as “one of the most influential Americans of our time.”
As she concluded, Clinton left a challenge to future generations: “Democracy isn’t a spectator sport.
I’ve had my turn. Now it’s yours.”
