Pregnant Mom Prays For Her Baby’s Health,
A Miracle in the Ultrasound
Amanda Foster, 33 and eight months pregnant in Kentucky, shared a photo from her 32-week ultrasound that has gone viral. The image shows what looks like a large hand gently resting on her unborn baby’s head—a sight Amanda believes is “a miracle.” She and her husband Kyle are expecting a baby boy after a difficult pregnancy shadowed by fear.
A Prayer Answered
Early scans showed a serious heart defect in their son, near the aorta, causing great worry. Amanda said, “At every check-up, I prayed for God to place His hand over my baby.” After the ultrasound, specialists found “no trace of the defect.” Amanda shared, “We prayed with so many people—and the problem vanished.” Now, she prays before every check-up.
Faith Through Loss and Hope
Amanda’s journey hasn’t been easy. At 17, she lost her first son to a rare, fatal condition called Potter’s syndrome. She recalls, “I told myself that if God was going to take my baby, He might as well take me, too.” Despite medical doubts, Amanda later had two healthy daughters. Still, she felt lost and distant from God until 2021, when she “handed my life over to Jesus Christ.” That same year, she gave birth to a healthy son, now almost three.
A Sign of Grace
The recent ultrasound image, which some call a scanning quirk, is deeply meaningful to the Fosters. Amanda says, “The image brought me to tears of gratitude.” Their daughter Bailey was the first to notice it, saying, “Mom, look at the hand!” For the family, the image is “a visible sign of grace,” a blessing they will carry forward.
