President Trump’s FBI announces
Top MS-13 Leader Arrested in Mexico, Extradition Underway
Francisco Javier Román-Bardales, an alleged senior MS-13 leader and one of Trump’s FBI “Ten Most Wanted,”
has been captured with the help of Mexican authorities, FBI Director Kash Patel announced.
Known as “Veterano de Tribus,” the 47-year-old is being extradited to the U.S.
to face charges including terrorism, racketeering, and drug trafficking.
Patel called the arrest “a major victory” for law enforcement and public safety.
Mexican officials identified Román-Bardales, informed him of his rights,
and transferred him to Mexico City for processing.
His capture follows other recent high-profile arrests,
including fugitives Arnoldo Jimenez and Donald Eugene Fields II.
Since 2009, U.S. prosecutors have charged hundreds of MS-13 members linked to more than 80 murders.
